Chairman

William F. Mauer

Judge William F. Mauer is a retired Circuit Judge for the State of Missouri. He also served 37 years in the Naval Reserve and retired with the Rank of Captain. Judge Mauer also served as a member of the Re-Commissioning Committee the Battleship Missouri (BB63) and the Commissioning Committee for the USS Harry S Truman (CVN 75). He is presently the Chairman of the Board of the USS Harry S Truman (CVN75) Foundation Inc.

Treasurer

Louis C. Accurso

Mr. Accurso specializes in civil litigation with primary emphasis on personal injury, products liability, negligence, insurance coverage and commercial litigation. Mr. Accurso has extensive jury trial experience with numerous jury trials as lead attorney in State and Federal Courts. Mr. Accurso has experience in pursuing personal injury and product liability lawsuits in eight different states. He has been a speaker at numerous seminars on the subjects of personal injury, products liability and insurance issues.  Mr Accurso is the Foundation’s Treasurer and resides in Leawood, KS.

Dennis Vollink

Lt Col Dennis Vollink (ret) began his Air Force career when he attended the Air Force Academy in Colorado and then completed USAF undergraduate pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base. He then became an instructor in the T-38 jet and subsequently an instructor to experienced pilots at Randolph Air Force Base. 

Although Dennis began working in the private sector for Drury Southwest, he continued his service with the military. In 1987 Dennis joined the Missouri Guard as Contingency Engineer in the 231st Civil Engineering Flight at Lambert Field in St. Louis, performing mechanical and environmental engineering. He retired in September 2004 and has continued to volunteer as the Liaison Officer for the AFA in Southeast Missouri recruiting and counseling candidates for the Air Force Academy.

Alan R. Gorthy, Jr.

Al spent 26 years of active duty service in the U.S. Navy where he flew as an operational pilot in numerous single seat attack and fighter jet aircraft.  He made combat deployments during the Vietnam conflict and served on eight different aircraft carriers. He has accumulated over 5000 flight hours and 600 carrier landings and holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate. Al is the President of the Foundation and a retired Navy Captain.

Samuel M. Bushman, IV

Sam Bushman has been a local businessman in Jefferson City, MO, for over 40 years.  He has held National offices with the Navy League of the United States; and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Capital Regional Medical Center, and the Missouri National Guard’s Employers in Support of the Guard and Reserve Program. Sam has also served on the Commissioning Committees of the USS Missouri BB-63 (1986), USS Jefferson City SSN-759 (1992), USS Harry S. Truman CV-75 (1998), and USS Missouri SSN-780 (2010). Sam is currently serving Cole County as Presiding Commissioner.

Kelly A. Campbell

Kelly Campbell is a trial lawyer who helps her clients make the best decision to reach their goals. She prepares her clients to comply with regulatory requirements and assists with proactive programs and policies to better serve their business goals. She works with her clients to understand their legal needs and resolve their issues. Distinctions: Navy Commendation Medal (Two Stars) and Navy Achievement Medal

Charles L. Drury, Jr.

Chuck Drury is President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Drury Hotels Company LLC., a national, family-owned and operated hotel company based in St. Louis, Missouri. As president and chief executive officer, he oversees strategic planning and long-range direction for the hotel chain, which operates over 150 hotels in 25 states. Chuck is a Board Member of the USS Harry S. Truman Foundation and resides in St. Louis, Missouri.
